What is MultiFactor Authentication (MFA)?

MutliFactor authentication (MFA) adds an additional security step to allowing particular user activities on the platform.

Required User Roles: Only Global Admins or Account Admins have permissions to enable or disable multifactor authentication (MFA) on users.

Backup Admins are able to manage their own MFA settings.

MultiFactor Authentication (MFA) is an additional, optional security layer, that requires a user to use a secondary device/application to authenticate certain SaaSAssure activities.

SaaSAssure supports any Time-based One Time Passwords (TOTP) applications such as Microsoft or Google Authenticator via QR code or manual text code.

The user actions that can have MFA assigned at this time are:

      • Edit backup
      • Delete backup
      • On-demand backup
      • On-demand restore
      • Remove connector
      • Delete storage location
      • Deactivate account
      • Delete account
