An account can be 'active' or 'inactive' and an account must be 'inactive' before you can delete the account.
Required User Roles: Only Global Admins or Account Admins have permissions to change account status and/or delete an account.
Active Account
When an account is in an active status it means that it has active connectors and associated plans functioning and billable. This is the default account status once an account has been created.
Inactive Account
When an active account is changed to inactive it does not cancel the connector or its associated plan, but it does stop all SaaSAssure backup activities.
The account's data will remain and will not be scheduled for deletion, but no new data will be collected and restore will be disabled.
MultiPerson Approval (MPA): If MPA is enabled on the account then the required approvers need to approve the deactivation of the account before the system will proceed with the requested change.
MultiFactor Authentication (MFA): If MFA is enabled on the user then the system will require the user to confirm the deactivation of the account via the MFA tool that was used with SaaSAssure.
Deleted Account
The delete functionality of an account will only show once an account has been put into an inactive state.
When the account is deleted:
- all associated data with the account will be queued for deletion
- the connectors and storage locations will be removed
- the connector plans will be cancelled*
*The connector plan will continue to be billed monthly until the end of the plan's commitment, but it will not auto-renew. The commitment length of the plan is dependent on which plan was purchased.
