How to Prepare for a Restore

Recommendations on preparing for a restore.

There are many potential reasons that a restore may be required so the following points are only recommendations and should be modified as needed to meet your circumstances. 

Best practices: 

  • Run a new backup of the latest data (assuming no malware or corruption issues with the source data)
  • Export a copy of all data so as to have a reference to compare the current state to what has changed. 
  • Communicate to all teams using the application about the restore starting and ask them to halt any work they are currently doing. 
  • Ensure there are no currently running or scheduled to run backups on this application while the restore is happening.  
  • Check to confirm that SaaSAssure still has valid credentials for the source application.
